~Here it is now...the middle of May. Back in December we were told the new site was being transferred over and give us a " couple " of weeks. I'm tired of fighting this site to log in...sometimes I fight to log out. 40 minutes to upload a screen shot. Error Error Error
I'm lucky if I can get through one page of screen shots before I get to watch my cursor spin. I thought the new site was supposed to be faster, better, improved ?

Lets see if I hit the send button now....

The only post on this forum that surprises me is that Sleeping Dragon has NO problems... I've experienced all and more of the issues that everyone here has mentioned. This is the part that really bugs me....
Unfortunately for the last couple of weeks we have been busy with a couple of other projects that have taken our attention away from WinCustomize. We should be completing those projects in the next day our two and will be returning our attention back to WinCustomize to continue to clean up these problems.

We are paying for this site, remember? Shouldn't we be the number one priority? Or is that other project paying you more? I'm starting to lose patience with you guys... This is no way to run a business. I'm very likely on the last renewal of my subscription here... and that saddens me, because I love the people here, and when this site is actually working, it's a great site. I just think you guys are in over your heads. Maybe you should win back our confidence by making the site 100% free until you figure out what the heck you're doing...

My question is this: What is the ratio of paying subscribers to non-paying registered users on the site? The way it seems to be structured, those of us who have paid our $20 are not only paying for our own use, but for the use of those who have not paid. If everyone who registered (about 2 million?) paid, that surely would be enough to support the infrastructure and staff to make the site work consistently. $20 a year is not really much to pay, but how much is it worth to underwrite those who refuse to throw in?

~Just a quck comment on this issue. I recall either T-man or someone explaining that Stardock pays the bulk of the servers. Then the subscriptions were helping to pay the extra burden . But..todays problem seemed different. Other times when I couldnt log into WC I logged in through my Stardock Central. I took a SS of that error message and it said Stardock server could not be reached. Im not sure how it all works but maybe the problem is with stardock ? Im sure they are working on it which could be why the errors are worse today.

I tried to save an error messaage that I got this morning, and did, but couldn't get back on the site to post it.

The laughable part was that after it gave me all the stats on the error, at the very bottom of the page, it said that the error page itself was in error!

Jafo had started another thread with the new error message....probably easier if this thread just dies out and you post on his.....this is link to jafo's thread.

Sorry Karen. I thought the bad link was another problem with the site.

It took SEVERAL attempts to get in the forums

Server Error in '/' Application.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

Citizen DUGGLER ...4 days on the site, 0 bytes downloaded and English not your first language...it's not surprising you might have 'issues' with site navigation, etc.  Of course, a little more effort on your part might help...

Fuzzy: point taken. Nevermind my post. Delete it if you wish. My apoligies.

Citizen DUGGLER  ...My point regarding the possible difficulty you 'may' be having being attributable to issues with English comprehension is neither stupidity or insensitivity....but simply a potential reality.  I know darn well my German languge studies from 35 years ago would help me little navigating a German-based site.

As to difficulties of understanding concepts and methodology of 'skinning'...you are not alone.  Most people neither understand, nor care that they do not.

It's horses for courses, mostly.

If, however, rather than having a first-intrusion into our community 'shitting this' and 'shitting that', you actually asked for simple assistance and/or advice you would be clearly 'saddened' to discover a general willingness of others to lend assistance.

A few passing forays into the world of skinning...every other year or two is not a sound basis to establish an informed opinion of anything much at all.
